Historically, relations between Greece and Turkey have been unstable. However, relations have greatly improved between the two countries nowadays. There are many factors contributing to this reality, including the geographical position of the two countries, Turkey’s continued efforts to join the European Union, and its significant contributions to the international market.
Basic Level (Temel Seviye)At this level, students begin to familiarize themselves with the Turkish language for the first time. Concurrently, students are informed about the way of life in modern Turkey and get in touch with its culture. Apart from the alphabet, they are taught basic grammatical structures and vocabulary. The aim is to be able to comprehend and participate in everyday situations, such as greeting and introducing other people, participating in basic phone conversations, etc.
Intermediate Level (Orta Seviye)The main objectives of this level are to teach students more difficult grammatical and syntactical structures of the Turkish language. Vocabulary is broadened, idioms are introduced and written expression is improved. At this level, students will be able to write simple texts and comprehend articles from magazines and newspapers to a great extent. Students will also be able to orally communicate with ease in more complex situations of everyday life, such as in hotels, shops, restaurants, etc.
Advanced Level (Yüksek Seviye)At this level, students continue to perfect their knowledge of Turkish. Vocabulary is enriched and pronunciation is improved. Students also perfect their knowledge in grammatical and syntactical structures. Completion of this level ensures that students are able to express their personal opinion about a variety of issues with ease and comprehend complex texts (from literature, newspapers, etc).
