Siountri School and Chania Sightseeing Tours invite you to get to know Chania

Siountri School and the newly-established company Chania Sightseeing Tours each in its own area of expertise initiated a new and original co-operation for the benefit of those who visit the city of Chania. Visitors have the opportunity to choose between a short and a longer tour of the city. Some of the most interesting sights included in the tour are: the famous Chania market place, the New City, and the Sampionara Arc. Those who choose the longer tour will have the opportunity to visit the picturesque port of Souda, to pass the Mediterranean Agricultural Institute of Chania (MAIX) as well as the Botanical Park which is a unique world of aromatic herbs and plants.

Siountri School having already completed a similar project for Athens and Piraeus , has undertaken the translation, editing and the sound reproduction of the Chania Sightseeing Tour in a modern state-of-the- art studio. The translations (in English, French, German, Russian, Swedish, Danish and Finnish) have been made by native speakers with many years of experience not only in the teaching of the corresponding language but also in translation and sound recording.

The specific project which Siountri School has undertaken is both interesting and challenging because the special demands for the translation of the texts relating to the Chania city were many and varied including the translation of the famous Cretan ‘mantinades’. Within this venture, the City of Chania, like Athens, which has a very rich history, becomes alive in front of the visitors who cannot fail to appreciate the beauties of the city narrated in their own native language.
