Demetra was born and raised in Montreal, Canada. Upon finishing her elementary education, she came to Greece. She then continued her post-secondary studies by receiving a BA in psychology from Deree, the American College of Greece. It was during this period that she took up teaching, tutoring students in both English and Psychology. During this time she also took up acting lessons with Helen Scotes of the Actor’s Studio and “Theatrical Play”, which she later incorporated in her teaching curriculum with her young students with great success.

Moreover, she has received training in learning difficulties, specifically in the study of dyslexia, in which she is pursuing her MA. She is currently studying for her Advanced Diploma in TESOL at the Hellenic American Union where she has also been an examiner for both the ECCE and ECPE diplomas for the past 6 years. Furthermore, she has examined for both Cambridge and the University Of Central Lancashire (UCLAN), but her main interest lies in the Michigan Exams . With over 13 years experience as an English instructor, and having acquired a wealth of knowledge of most teaching settings, from private schools with very young pupils to corporations teaching business executives, her qualifications are of an exceptional standard.
